Who are we?
About Tsubakurame
Tsubakurame is a small brand that shares the beauty of nature through photography.
We want to bring a sense of calm and warmth into everyday life — especially for those who spend most of their days in busy, digital environments.
When we travel, we pay attention to small details:
the light at sunrise, the quiet movement of animals, the color of the air before it rains.
These moments feel alive, and they remind us of how big and gentle the world can be.
We hope to share that feeling through our prints and stationery.
What we cherish is not simply looking at a photograph,
but living alongside it.
It can become part of your space, your mood, and your daily rhythm.
Having a nature scene in your room can create a small moment to pause, relax, and breathe.
Our work is for people who:
-
enjoy nature and wildlife
-
like simple, calm interiors
-
love the feeling of paper goods like postcards and calendars
-
want to bring a bit of outdoor peace into their daily routine
-
feel tired of screens and constant information
We create prints, postcards, and calendars that are meant to be lived with —
not loud, not flashy, just quiet and comforting.
Our hope is simple:
Even in the city, you can stay connected to nature.
Just a little at a time.
Tsubakurame exists to help you make that connection,
in a way that feels natural and gentle.
Meaning of Tsubakurame
The name “Tsubakurame” comes from an old Japanese word for the swallow
— a small migratory bird that has long been loved in Japan.
Every spring, swallows return to towns and villages, build their nests, and raise their young. Many people see them as a sign of good fortune. There’s a traditional belief that a home with a swallow’s nest will be blessed with happiness, a good harvest, or prosperous days.
While some countries have stories about “bluebirds of happiness,” in Japan, the swallow often plays that role — a little bird that brings hope and luck.
Swallows travel thousands of kilometers each year, flying between Japan and Southeast Asia, including Vietnam. They have no map or compass, but they find their way by reading the sun and the wind.
We admired this small traveler — gentle, familiar, but incredibly strong.
And as we begin our own journey around the world, we chose to borrow its name.
That is how our brand became Tsubakurame.
Meet the Team
We create this journey together.
Zun

Photographer / Creator
He was born and raised in Vietnam
and came to Japan as a university student.
After working as an IT engineer for several years, he realized how important it was for him to spend time in nature — to slow down, breathe, and feel grounded.
Now he works as a photo and video creator, while still continuing his work as an IT engineer.
He loves capturing small, quiet moments: the light before sunrise, the movement of animals, the stillness after the wind.
What makes him happiest is simple:
going out to see beautiful landscapes,
and taking slow walks with someone he cares about.
His work received 3rd place in the Nature category of the DJI SkyPixel Photo & Video Contest.

Chiaki

Communication / Story Direction
She was born and raised in Japan.
After first 2 years of university in Tokyo, she moved to Lille in France, where she lived for three years and experienced a different value of life.
She later worked at both Japanese and global consulting firms, dedicating herself to supporting clients and helping their projects move forward.
At one point, she was hospitalized, and it gave her a lot of quiet moments to think.
She realized that the things people often feel they should work toward — career status, long hours, luxury goods — didn’t feel essential to her anymore.
What mattered most were small, personal things: time, health, connection, and quiet moments that feel alive.
She was the one who first dreamed of traveling the world — a spark that led to our journey and eventually to Tsubakurame.
Her perspective brings calm and intention to our work.
